Changes to sealed shipping on Mana Pool (and new price modifiers to bake in shipping)

Hi Reader,

Currently, Mana Pool orders with sealed products have a $9.99 charge for shipping. Any order that contains sealed products has this charge, and unlike with singles, the buyer does not get free shipping when the order is $45+.

Shipping will soon be "free" on all $45+ orders

Starting next Wed, October 22, all orders will qualify for free shipping if they are $45+, on any mix of products. We are doing this to drive more sealed sales.

Even though we anticipate sellers will "bake in" shipping (see below for how to do that), having "free" shipping on booster boxes and consistent shipping across all products will drive more sales.

New pricing modifiers - bake in your shipping

To help you control margins (especially for sellers who price their inventory outside of Mana Pool), we added flexible pricing modifiers.

For any price band(s), you can now set a fixed $ modifier. Go to your Inventory dashboard, and click Pricing modifiers, which will take you here.

Couple of notes:

  • To maintain the status quo, you can simply set a $9.99 modifier for your sealed products across all prices. This will be close to the same as before, except you’ll be paid that amount per item and not just for the overall order.
  • If you want some thoughts on how we anticipate people using these modifiers, check out this article.
  • To make +/- adjustments to singles prices, that’s available now too. We built "fixed modifiers for price bands" to support the change in sealed shipping, but we also made the feature work for singles price bands since some sellers requested it.

Comments, or need help?

Reply to this email if you need any guidance on setting your modifiers, or if you have any feedback/requests for tooling to make selling on Mana Pool easier or more profitable for you.
